You probably though I forgot about that one, didn’t you?
Finishing the Giant Plus is one of my goals for the Quarterly Finish-Along. I know I won’t finish it this quarter but I thought I would at least pull it back out and work on piecing it. I have 5 out of 15 rows done! I also have the remaining rows pinned in order so it will be easy to grab a stack and piece it in between other projects.
You can see that it’s taken over the top part of my design wall.
The other project I’ve been working on is the spiderweb string blocks – I really love how they look but it’s pretty time consuming. It takes 4 subunits to make one 8″ square block and I think I want to make this a throw-sized quilt for our living room, so we’re talking 72 squares. I have 3 ready to go (they’re not sewn together because I want to wait until I have more done, in case I need to cut more fabric).
Some of those strings are really teeny, so each subunit has a lot of pieces to it. Plus I’m always dithering about which piece should be next. I’m trying to streamline my process a bit though!
Oh and in the interest of keeping it real – here’s my honest craft room photo when I’m working on those string blocks.
Yup, messy. But fun! Hope your week is good.
Linking up with Lee @ Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday.
